The Blendtec Blender

If you are a vegan, raw vegan, or even just someone who likes to cook, the Blendtec blender is absolutely a must for your kitchen. I cannot imagine how I would function without mine. Before I bought this blender, I had broken no less than 5 blenders trying to make mango smoothies and vegan and raw soups.

It took me 5 blenders to figure out that ordinary blenders just couldn't handle the frozen mango chunks, or the dense veggies I like to use in my soups. It had become crystal clear - I needed a super-blender.

• A Super-Powered Motor - The Blendtec motor is 13 amps/3 horsepower, which is more powerful than most top-end blenders, including the Vita-mix. This motor is so powerful that it can blend marbles and golf-balls into powder! (If you don't believe me, check out the video below, but don't try it at home!)


• A Square Canister - This is one of the features that makes the Blendtec truly unique. The square shape, for reasons involving physics that are beyond me, pulls the mixture into the center for more thorough blending, instead of sending it upwards and outwards. This insures that all your ingredients are blended completely.


• Computerized Blend Cycles - In addition to 10 speeds and a Pulse button, the Blendtec Blender (Remember, I'm still talking about the bottom of the product line here!) comes with 6 different blend cycles that automatically speed up the blades and slow them down at various intervals, depending on what you want to make. There is a smoothie button that will adjust the speed of the blades so that crushed ice won't melt. There is also a soup button that makes the blades spin fast enough to create heat. I can honestly say that my Blendtec is the absolute core of my vegan and raw lifestyle. I would say that I am about 85% raw at this point, but I know that with my busy life I would not be able to sustain that without my blender. It is truly one of the best investments I've ever made.

These videos show a complete demonstration of the Blendtec. One of the great things about this Blender is that it lets you use parts of fruits and veggies you might otherwise discard - like watermelon seeds or strawberry and carrot greens. Often we throw away the most nutritious parts of the food, but the Blendtec makes it easy to just mix them right in!
